What is jawline filler?
The lower facial border runs from the chin, along the jaw, to the angle. With age, reduced bone support and descending fat pads blur this line. Products dense enough to carry tissue are used.
Planning
The consultation assesses chin projection, the width of the jaw angle, the neck-to-chin angle and skin firmness. The target line differs between male and female faces and is planned accordingly.
The procedure
The product is placed mostly with a cannula, on the bone and in the deep fat plane. It takes 30–40 minutes and you can return to normal activity the same day.
Afterwards
Mild swelling and occasional bruising may last a few days. The result settles within two weeks and lasts 12–18 months on average. Where there is marked skin laxity, filler alone may not be enough; alternatives are discussed at the consultation.
